About Krabi and Ao Nang

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

The hotel failed to pick us up at the airport. After much waiting, we found our own place at to the hotel. The location advertised that it was a 10 min walk to the beach. Upon arrival, we realized that was not true. The bedrooms are outdated and had rock hard beds. The receptionists did not speak English well and we have several communication issues. The location felt like it was in a slummy place. If you are travelling to Krabi, make sure you stay closer to the beach. This location was inaccessible and required us to taxi to the beach.

We recently stayed at Andaman Breeze Resort and, unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. The hotel looks mostly like the photos online, but it quickly becomes clear that they’re cutting corners everywhere possible. They tried to charge us extra for almost everything — even a spare sheet for our toddler (under 3!). Upon departure we were also asked to pay extra 300bht because one towel got apparetnly 'extra' dirty from cleaning up spilled milk.

The facilities are rather outdated, and while things technically match the pictures and could be a great pleace, they feel worn and tired. Some of the bed sheets had stains, which was quite unpleasant. Each room gets only one key card, so you have to take it with you — turning off the AC every time you step out. The common areas are also uncomfortably warm, as the main AC is switched off and doors are left open to create a natural draft instead.

The location itself isn’t too bad, but you definitely need a scooter or some means of transport to get around. The hotel does provide a small shuttle service twice a day, which is handy, but not enough if you plan to explore freely.

Overall, this place feels like it’s focused more on saving money than on guests’ comfort. It’s a shame, because with better cleanliness, maintenance, and a bit more generosity, it could have been a pleasant stay.

Very disappointing experience at what is advertised as a 4-star hotel.

We booked two rooms for four nights through Booking.com. Upon arrival, one of the rooms had clearly stained bedsheets and moldy spots on the curtains. We immediately informed reception and asked for the sheets to be changed. When we returned later, the stains were still there. After complaining again and even showing photos, we left for dinner.

When we came back around 11 PM, we realized that instead of replacing the sheets, they had simply turned them around. This felt extremely unprofessional and dishonest. We asked for a room change but were told the hotel was fully booked.

The night shift employee tried to handle the situation, but it was clear he had no housekeeping experience and did not know how to manage it properly. We were even helping him change the bedsheets because he didn’t know how to do it. He couldn’t find a duvet cover, and in the end we went to sleep at 2 AM between two fitted sheets, with the blanket placed on top just to avoid direct contact with it.

The next morning, when we approached the front desk again, the situation was not taken seriously. The receptionist even seemed to find it funny and was laughing about what had happened, which made the whole experience even more frustrating.

What made it worse was the manager’s behavior. We repeatedly asked to speak with her directly, but she avoided us during our entire stay and chose to hide behind her employees instead of addressing the issue personally. For a 4-star property, this level of hygiene and management is unacceptable.

This was honestly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Based on how this was handled, I would not choose this hotel again.

Excellent comfortable clean hotel. Pool area is relaxing with added bonus of a bar. Everyone on reception goes out their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A special shout out to Bee for going above and beyond at every opportunity. A brilliant stay at this resort.

Andaman Hotel is an exceptional choice when staying in Ao Nang. Compared to many hotels in town, its location is truly ideal - perfectly positioned between the canyon with breathtaking views and the Main Street, offering easy access to everything while still feeling peaceful and private. Despite being so well located, the hotel never feels crowded or noisy at all.
The property itself is clean, modern, and very well maintained, giving the impression of a relatively new hotel. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed, from the comfortable interiors to the overall atmosphere. The swimming pool is a real highlight - beautiful, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
A wonderful stay overall, and a hotel we would happily return to and recommend to anyone visiting Ao Nang.
