About Krabi and Krabi province

Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Krabi province sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.

Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

Actually, I hadn’t planned to write a review because I thought the issues could be resolved in a different way. Unfortunately, the hotel was not willing to address our concerns.

We booked the hotel through Expedia, where it clearly states that the beach is only a one-minute walk away. Unfortunately, this is not true — it takes about 15 minutes on foot in direct sun. Before arriving, I even sent a message asking whether the location was really as far from the beach as shown on Google Maps. I was told that there can sometimes be discrepancies, so I assumed the hotel was indeed close to the beach. When we arrived, it was obvious that this was not the case.

In the room, there were no small towels provided, and we found termite droppings on the bed. The air conditioning was extremely strong, making it uncomfortable to sleep with it on, but without it, the room would heat up again within about 15 minutes. Although there was a small kitchen, no sponge was provided for washing dishes. It’s the small details that make a difference.

Overall, the staff (Most of them) was friendly. However, their English skills were sometimes quite limited. On our last day, someone at reception told me that you might be able to reach the beach in one minute “if you hurry,” laughed, and said it was not their problem if the information on Expedia was incorrect. However, since Expedia is the platform used to book the hotel, this response felt inappropriate.

We specifically chose this hotel because of its supposed proximity to the beach, as there is at least a slight breeze by the water.

Breakfast was average at best. There were six options to choose from, plus a small buffet with cereal, toast, and fruit. If you arrived later — even still within breakfast hours — items were not refilled. The juice and most drinks were extremely sweet, almost like pure syrup. Coffee costs extra if you want anything other than instant coffee.

This place was just perfect for what we needed.

Jack and Um at the front desk really went above and beyond for us. As well, the bar and restaurant staff were so kind and friendly and help my boyfriend and I out as he was dealing with a knee injury and fairly immobile.

The grounds to this resort are so lush and beautiful. The rooms spacious and gorgeous. The pool picture perfect and never too busy And everything so clean and spotless.

Was an absolutely treat to stay here and we would highly l recommend it to anyone who is able to.

Beautiful place - you feel like in a jungle, such lush plants, huge variety. We visited in November during the rain. There was even a small waterfall. The place is a bit remote but with modern amenities. If you want to escape the business or work remotely in peace - it’s perfect.

My experience at Loy Chalet Resort in Krabi was disappointing, especially considering the price point that suggests a luxury experience near the beach. In reality, the resort is located about a 20-25 minute walk from the nearest beach, which is far from what I expected. If you're looking for beachfront access, you might want to reconsider.
The food options also left much to be desired. Breakfast consisted of only six choices, and if you happened to arrive later, you might find that many of these options were already gone. The portions were rather small, which might not satisfy a healthy adult or anyone with a hearty appetite. Additionally, coffee or tea were not included and had to be purchased separately, which felt a bit stingy for a resort claiming a luxury experience.
On a positive note, the room was clean, quiet, and spacious enough for a comfortable stay. However, the staff's attitude was a mixed bag. While some were friendly and welcoming, if you raised any concerns or offered feedback, you were met with defensiveness instead of a willingness to improve. It was disappointing to feel blamed when I simply wanted to address an issue.

We absolutely loved our stay at Loy Chalet! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and relaxed. The property is beautifully designed, surrounded by lush gardens that give it such a peaceful, tropical vibe. Our rooms were spotless, spacious, and had a perfect mix of modern comfort and Thai charm.

Breakfast was delicious every morning, and had plenty of options. You can also order Thai food during the day. The pool area was stunning — quiet, clean, and perfect for cooling off after a day exploring Krabi.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and the warmth of the people running the place. They were always happy to help with laundry, booking massages (they will come directly to your room!), activities, and anything else we needed.

The location is ideal too — tucked away enough to be quiet, but only a short drive or scooter ride to Klong Muang Beach, restaurants, and shops (with a small supermarket right next door).

If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, stylish, and genuinely welcoming, Loy Chalet is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to come back!
