About Krabi and Ao Nang
Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast is famous for limestone cliffs, clear water, and easy access to islands such as Phi Phi, Hong Island, and local four-island loops. Ao Nang sits within this network of beaches, piers, and national park zones, making it practical for both short holidays and week-long stays. Infrastructure has improved steadily — ATMs, mini-marts, clinics, and tour counters are common — yet the region still feels more relaxed than busier beach hubs.
Check In Krabi publishes guides, hotel lists, restaurant picks, and public place notes to help visitors compare options before they book. Always cross-check ferry times, park fees, and national holiday crowds because conditions change by season. Respect marine parks: avoid single-use plastic on boats, do not stand on coral, and follow staff instructions during snorkeling stops.

I booked this hostel online and read all the reviews beforehand so I would know what I was getting myself into, but I was still a bit unprepared for the reality of this hostel.
First let me say…. You stay here for the vibes, not because it’s a nice place to stay. Everyone who worked here and that was staying here were genuinely some of the nicest, raddest people I’ve ever met from all over the world. I was traveling solo looking for climbing partners and ended up finding what I hope will be lifelong friends. The vibes are what you stay here for!
Now that that’s out of the way. The accommodations themselves are incredibly basic, and dare I say, a bit gross?? My biggest pet peeve was that the bathroom was ALWAYS soaking wet. Everything in it. The toilet seat always needed to be wiped down before use, the floor was always a puddle, and the counter/sink was always wet. I stayed in their women only dorm, which has two bunk beds for a total of four roommates. The beds were squeaky and super hard, and I saw them not change the bedding out between guests. At night, there’s no ac, and even with the fans on, the room felt hot and stuffy (it felt cooler outside with the breeze actually). I did poke my head into the mixed dorms, which seemed to have nicer, thicker mattresses and also only sleep three people total instead of four. So my recommendation is to book that instead. Bathroom was still gross though even in those dorms.
Overall, would I stay here again? Probably! You’re so close to the climbing and all of what Ton Sai has to offer!
Also I took the jungle trek to get here between Railay and Tonsai and it was maybe like a 10-15 minute hike beach to beach carrying all of my stuff. I recommend doing that to get here. Just walk towards the end of the beach and there is a VERY obvious trail. Take the stairs on the right when you get into the town area (by the cliff side bar) and then go up through the nice looking bungalows until you see an open gate on the left. Go through that and walk for a bit more and you’ll see chill out on the right.
What a magical place to stay in, where the ocean kisses the mountains, it feels like Mount Olympus is across the other side.
If you want a nice chill vibe, beautiful nature, a real getaway and a climbers paradise, this is it.
Lovely staff, great comfortable bungalows, clean areas and a walk from the beach.
Its a joy, if what you want is to connect with nature and yourself.
Myself and my boyfriend had booked one night here and ended up extending for another 3 nights. This place is paradise. The bungalows are simple but great, no mosquitos inside which I was worried about! The front desk staff were amazing and so helpful. A, the bar man and all the restaurant staff were also so friendly. If you stay in Chillout you should do some climbing with Max & Bao, they are the best ! Such a beautiful place with beautiful people, we can’t wait to come back, thank you ❤️
11/11/2025 10:00Great place. Not really gonna be anywhere cheaper for the location..5min walk to the beach
Lots of different cabins with differing views and heights ours you could see the cliffs of the valley
No power from 6-6
Toilets bit dated but hey
Monkeys in the morning and afternoon sorry me great birds
Hippy vibe
We stayed in the chill out bungalows for 8ish days over Christmas while on a climbing trip and cannot say enough good things about the place!! Every single member of staff was so lovely and accommodating and treated everyone with so much warmth and friendliness!! And the food!!! Probably the best we had during our whole trip and we ended up eating back at the chill out bar every single day. Please say a huge thank you to the ladies who work in the kitchen and the servers because they were absolutely wonderful. The setting was unreal too, we were up on the hill and surrounded by jungle, monkeys and the cliffs it was quite literally paradise. Huts were very rustic and cute and clean and staff were happy to clean the room while we were out if we requested them to. No electricity during the day was not a problem as we were out and about! Do not listen to any negative review- if you came to hang out in an all-inclusive resort all day then no this wouldn’t necessarily suit you, but if you love the outdoors, climbing, nature, wildlife, amazing food and the best people then you won’t regret staying here!!
